The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 8,000 feet and LOW below that elevation. Strong winds have formed new wind slabs on leeward aspects and some potential may remain for deep persistent slabs to be triggered by humans on steep east through north aspects above an elevation of 9,000 feet. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.
West-southwest winds have created new wind slabs on old snow surfaces. These slabs could be human triggered in steep terrain with depths of one to two feet.
Some potential may persist for humans, especially those on snow machines, to trigger deep hard slabs on steep east to northerly aspects above an elevation of 9,000 feet. If triggered these slabs will fail on faceted snow that formed in early November with crown depths of three to five feet.
