Lo esencial

The snow pack is mostly stable however shallow amounts of new snow lie upon weak faceted snow, areas of sun crust and wind packed snow surfaces that formed during the the late December/early January dry period. At the upper elevations isolated pockets of shallow wind slab pose a threat to humans who venture into cliff areas, steep couloirs and other extreme terrain features.
