Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is LOW rising to MODERATE by afternoon. Above freezing overnight temperatures and very warm forecasted highs will weaken the snowpack increasing the chance of wet snow avalanches. Non-supportable crusts are a good indication it is time to get off steep slopes.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )High pressure over the area will continue warm temperatures and dry conditions. Mountain temperatures will drop to the mid 20s overnight then warm to the low 50s Tuesday. Ridge top winds will be southwesterly at 10 miles per hour.Pockets of surface slab to a foot in depth could be user triggered at upper elevations in the northern Teton Range. Investigate areas under ridge crests and cornices that have remained dry before committing. The remainder of snowpack at all elevations consists of thick melt-freeze crusts and is mostly stable. The avalanche danger is expected to be LOW.
