Heavy dense snow has blanketed the Park Range, and you could trigger an avalanche either at the surface or on deeper weak layers in the snowpack. Wind-drifted slopes will be the most dangerous. You will not get warning signs before you trigger a deeper slide. You can more easily trigger a deep slide on steep slopes with many trigger points. You can trigger an avalanche from below.
You can find safer travel on slopes that face west and have less storm snow and contain no weak layers, or on slopes less than about 30 degrees.
