Avalanche Summary

Natural and skier-triggered slides the past two days mean you can trigger an avalanche large enough to bury you this weekend. Look for and avoid areas of wind-drifted snow on steep slopes below ridges, convex rollovers, and on rocky, varied slopes. The majority of recent avalanche activity was in the alpine on slopes facing east, southeast, and south. Give suspect slopes a wide berth; some recent avalanches were triggered from below or from a distance. Avoid trigger points like thin patches of snow near rocks or over convexities.

Above-freezing temperatures at lower elevations mean you might see point releases in wet, cohesionless snow. Avoid steep slopes where you see rollerballs or if you're sinking up to your ankles in wet snow.
