The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. At the higher elevations pockets of soft surface slabs 10 to 30 inches deep exist in some steep, wind-loaded avalanche starting zones. These slabs could be triggered by the weight of a person or a snowmachine. Evaluate the snow and terrain carefully and avoid areas of concern.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A southwest flow will bring light snow to the mountains and a rain snow mix to the lower elevations. Morning lows Monday will be in the teens then temperatures will rise to near 30 or warmer. Winds will be southerly at 20 to 25 miles per hour.At upper elevations backcountry travelers could release pockets of slab 10 to 30 inches in depth in very steep terrain. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
