Lo esencial

Warmer overnight temperatures and rapid warming will create the potential for natural and human triggered wet surface slides at all elevations. Sunlit, steep slopes and their run-outs should be avoided in the afternoon. Observed slides have been started by people near rocky areas or blocks of snow falling from cliffs. Snow and northeast winds Saturday created isolated pockets of dense wind slabs to 18 inches in depth that could be triggered on lee, steep slopes at upper elevations. The chance of encountering these pockets is greater on the west side of the range where more snow fell.
