You can trigger a dangerous avalanche on many steep slopes facing northwest through north to east. At lower elevations, these will be wet snow avalanches and easier to trigger in the afternoon when temperatures warm up. At higher elevations, you might be able to travel across a slope several times before you trigger a surprisingly large avalanche. The easiest way to reduce your chances of being caught in an avalanche on Sunday is to avoid traveling on or under steep slopes facing these aspects of concern. If you travel on steep slopes facing these directions, choose slopes with no terrain traps, such as a creek or cliff below you, where the consequences of even a small avalanche can be very bad.
