Avalanche Summary

Upper-elevation slopes with recently formed drifts of snow are the most dangerous. You can trigger an avalanche where you find pillows of drifted snow on steep slopes below ridgelines and along gully walls. If you see cracking in the snow, avoid steep slopes with suspect drifts. Head to lower-angled or sheltered slopes for safer riding.
