Forecast Snow Stability: The surface layers of the existing snowpack will firm up overnight becoming hard and icy. During the day, this stable and well bonded snowpack will slowly soften. A gradual thaw will take place at lower elevations. The most extensive snowfields will be found above 950 metres around coire back walls, gullies, ridge flanks and on summit plateaus. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: No precipitation has been forecast. Light Southerly winds will gradually become strong. Overnight the freezing level will lower to around 800 metres before rising to 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A trace of overnight wet snow fell above 1100 metres. This cleared to leave a mainly dry day. North-Westerly winds were light and the freezing level was around 1200 metres at midday. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snow cover is generally stable and well bonded throughout. This has softened up especially where exposed to direct sunlight. Greatest amounts can be found around coire back walls, gullies and ridge flanks above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
