As the day progresses warm temperatures will be increasing the wet snow avalanche hazard hazard by creating areas of unstable snow on steep slopes. The general avalanche hazard will be low at all elevations during the early morning hours. It will increase to moderate after snow surfaces soften. It will increase to considerable during the warmest portion of the day. Cornices are large and may become unstable. Cornice failures could trigger large wet slab avalanches. Monitor conditions and get off of and out from under steep terrain after significant warming has occurred.

    As the day warms wet loose slides will become likely on steep terrain features and wet slab avalanches will become possible. These wet slides could release naturally or be triggered by skiers or riders. Wet loose slides will pose their greatest threat in confined terrain and very steep couloirs where small slides can quickly grow and entrain significant amounts of snow. Wet slab avalanches are most likely to be triggered by the failure of a cornice. Cornice failures could occur naturally or be caused by the weight of a person. Be mindful of both the terrain that you are on and the terrain above you.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Conditions will remain dry through the weekend. Clear skies will allow temperatures to drop into the mid to upper 20s overnight. Daytime highs will rise into the 40s and 50s in the mountains. Winds will back to the west and stay light at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Very warm temperatures and abundant sunshine will create unstable conditions on steep snow covered slopes after snow surfaces soften. Wet loose slides are likely on steep slopes in the afternoon and wet slab avalanches are possible. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW below an elevation of 10,500 feet in the early morning hours and increase to MODERATE after snow surfaces warm and then to CONSIDERABLE during the warmest portion of the day. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain after snow surfaces become unstable.
