Avoid cornices and steep slopes below cornices. These are the most likely places to trigger a slide today.

The most recent storm had some wind that drifted snow and formed fresh drifts and slabs of snow. These are getting more stubborn and harder to trigger but we're going to see a new round form today with the anticipated strong wind later on. You will want to avoid any of these fresh drifts and slabs where they've formed on steep slopes. The most likely places to trigger these are right along the higher ridges and peaks. They'll be most pronounced on the north through east through south facing upper elevation terrain.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: Riding conditions remain excellent this morning on the more shady slopes. You'll find heat crusts on the sunny facing slopes. Temperatures got into the mid 20s on Tuesday and were around 20˚F overnight. The wind has been pretty light from the northwest.

Mountain Weather: It will get windy later today with strong speeds from the northwest. Clouds will increase throughout the day. There's a small chance for light snowfall late today and tonight with no accumulation expected. The next couple of days look nice with plenty of sun. Let's hope today's strong wind doesn't ruin all the fresh powder out there.
