Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to thaw and consolidate at all altitudes and remain well bonded and stable throughout. Glide cracks will continue to widen with the potential for full depth avalanche, especially where the snow overlies steep rock slab terrain. Cornices will be unstable and prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Mild conditions will continue with freezing levels remaining above the summits throughout the forecast period. No precipitation is expected, clear overnight with sunshine during the day. Light to moderate winds will be Westerly in direction. Observed Weather Influences: A mild cloudy day with occasional sunny spells. Winds were moderate, Westerly in direction. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is thawing and consolidating at all altitudes. In the main the spring snowpack is well bonded and stable throughout. Glide cracks were observed on a steep, convex South-East facing slope at 1000 metres. Remaining cornices are slumping and prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Low.
