Lo esencial

The snowpack is generally stable. Watch for small pockets of wind blown snow on isolated terrain features along ridge crests and peaks. Although small in size, these slides could still cause injuries if they carry an unsuspecting traveler into rocky terrain below.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Clouds are to linger through the night and clear during the day on Wednesday as high pressure and inversion conditions develop. The eastern portion of Togwotee Pass could see some snow showers overnight as a system drops into the center of the state. Temperatures are to be near zero degrees at all elevations in the morning with highs in the twenties. Light winds are to veer from the northwest to the northeast and possibly the east by afternoon. The avalanche danger will be Low. The small wind slabs that formed during last night’s storm will be even less sensitive due to both time and cold temperatures. Besides these small isolated pockets, the snowpack is stable.
