Togwotee has received 6 inches to over a foot of snowfall and shifting winds over the past week. New snow has formed soft slabs that may slide without a human trigger and will be easy to trigger in steep terrain, especially later today as winds increase. Cracking or collapsing in the new snow, cornices, and wind drifts all indicates the potential for an avalanche. Instabilities in the latest snowfall hold the potential to step down and trigger larger and more dangerous avalanches. Check out this observation from yesterday for more.

Observed shooting cracks and many collapses on the way up Angle. Some more new snow in the past 48 hours and increasing wind today will make this problem worse today.
