As a consequence of a moderate to strong wind, small wind slabs will form in the course of the day in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls, especially on extremely steep slopes. The small quantity of fresh snow as well as the small wind slabs are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack on shady slopes. These can be released. In particular along the border with Switzerland the avalanche prone locations are a little more prevalent. The avalanches are small and can be released by a single winter sport participant. Caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack.

Over a wide area 5 cm of snow will fall until late in the night above approximately 2000 m. The rain gave rise on Thursday to moistening of the snowpack below approximately 2000 m. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 1800 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m a little snow is lying. The snowpack is not distinctly layered. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals.

The avalanche danger will persist.
