Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to thaw and consolidate but remain well bonded. Snow cover will diminish on all aspects with greatest cover remaining in North to East facing corries and on the highest plateau areas. Collapsing cornices, falling rocks and ice will be a significant hazard. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Remaining mild with the freezing level over the summits in this area. Rain overnight but dry during the day. Note that the summits of the highest main Cairngorm summits will see light snow showers. A strengthening strong breeze from the North-West throughout the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and mild day, plus 2.4 degrees celsius recorded at 930 metres. Moderate South-Easterly winds throughout the day. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is consolidating with the majority of snow soft but generally well bonded. Surface instabilities persist only on the steepest terrain around the higher summits. Any remaining cornices are prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
