Weak layers in the lower part of the snowpack can be released in some places in particular on steep east, south and southwest facing slopes. These can be released, even by a single winter sport participant. Avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain.

The weather conditions will give rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack. As a consequence of low temperatures the snowpack will consolidate during the next few days. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on near-ridge shady slopes.
