Lo esencial

The snowpack is mostly stable above 8000 feet. At low elevations the surface of the isothermal snowpack cooled enough to reduce the chances of wet-loose slides.

Avalanche Discussion

Areas of light snow can be expected Monday night then diminish overnight with partly cloudy skies prevailing Tuesday. Temperatures will fall to near ten degrees overnight in the mountains then warm to the mid twenties Tuesday. Ridge top winds will be westerly at ten to fifteen m.p.h. Light snow will be possible Tuesday afternoon as a system approaches the area from the northwest. The general avalanche hazard will be Low Tuesday. The snowpack is mostly stable with hard crusts on all aspects except some isolated, north facing areas at upper elevations. Periods of sunshine and warming temperatures could make wet-loose slides possible at lower elevations in steep pockets that have not yet slid. The heavier snowfall and stronger winds could potentially increase the avalanche hazard in the Wyoming/Greys River areas.
