Lo esencial
Strong southwest to northwest winds at the ridgetops for the last 48 hours have formed soft slabs up to two feet in depth at the mid and upper elevations. These slabs will be easy to trigger as they lie upon slick crusts and weak layers of faceted snow. Avalanche hazard control efforts on a small portion of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort yesterday resulted in the explosive triggering of one foot slabs in the lower portion of the Expert Chute area. Poor visibility limited observations in the Cirque and Headwall areas. At the lower elevations the snowpack is shallow and avalanches are unlikley except in isolated pockets.
