In localities where more snow falls the avalanche danger is greater. From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
As the day progresses, individual moist snow slides are possible. The new snow is lying on the favourable surface of an old snowpack. The fresh wind slabs can be released in isolated cases.
Snowpack Structure
As a consequence of new snow and wind, small wind slabs will form above approximately 1600 m. The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. In particular at low and intermediate altitudes a little snow is lying.
