Lo esencial

Warm temperatures and rain on snow will create unstable conditions again today.  With numerous days of above-freezing temperatures, it's best to avoid traveling in avalanche terrain, including runout zones.  If you are sinking to your boot tops in wet snow that's Mother Nature's cue that it's time to go home.

This forecast is sponsored by the Wallowa County Gamblers Snowmobile Club.

If you observe roller balls, pinwheels, and other signs of wet snow moving downhill it's time to avoid all slopes >30 degrees and runout zones.  The Blues continue to get punished with warm daytime temperatures, nights without freezing temperatures, and snow levels near or above any topographical feature in the area.  Wet snow avalanches are not to be taken lightly, as you and your equipment could get pushed into consequential terrain including off cliffs, into creeks or other terrain traps, and strained through trees.
