Decreasing wind speeds and snowfall amounts continue to allow a gradual stabilizing trend. However, winds will be just strong enough to drift snow near ridgelines, forming shallow slabs you can trigger. Older, stubborn slabs will be harder to identify but could be large. Steer around steep or poorly supported slopes proximal to the lee of ridgelines. If you encounter, areas of wind-stiffened or punchy snow in other areas, extend your conservative terrain selection more broadly. New cornices may be fragile and ready to break. Give them a wide berth along ridgelines and be aware of parties on slopes below you.
A weak snow/crust interface ~3' down in the Hurricane Ridge area has not exhibited recent signs of activity, but the structure remains something to keep on your mind. If you experience collapses or audible whumpfs while traveling, immediately dial back your terrain selection and retreat to lower-angle slopes without overhead exposure. Deep snow has limited direct snowpack observations so tread carefully until we know more about the likelihood of triggering a deeper avalanche on this layer.

There is a large amount of new snow available for transport and we saw moderate amounts of blowing snow forming sharp new cornices.
