Lo esencial

Northwest wind will increase this afternoon above treeline. Overall, the avalanche danger is low and skies clear, but pay attention to the wind, which way it's blowing and if any snow is moving onto leeward slopes. Large, existing wind slabs are widespread above treeline, but have been unreactive to trigger. New wind slabs will be smaller and may be more sensitive. Other hazards include cornices along ridges, deep tree wells, large tree bombs and rime ice plastered rocks. During these sunny days, be heads up for the latter two hazards shedding their thick winter coats.

Northwest winds are forecast to increase this afternoon. Existing, large wind slabs are widespread above treeline and have been unreactive to trigger. New wind slabs are possible, but will be small. Not much loose snow remains available for wind transport. None-the-less, keep an eye out for small wind slabs that probably won't bury you, but could sweep you off your feet and down the hill. If you feel the wind blowing and see snow moving, use caution on those leeward slopes.
