Lo esencial

The avalanche danger is Low above 8,500' today. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Below 8,500 there is not enough snow cover to warrant a danger rating. Early season hazards such as buried rocks and vegetation are prevalent at all elevations and could result in injury.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Light snow showers are expected with accumulations in the trace to 1” range. Winds will be out of the west at 15-20 mph. Skies will remain cloudy. Ridgetop temperatures will be in the high teens to low twenties.Isolated pockets of shallow wind slab could form in the highest elevations. Elsewhere there is not enough new snow to create slabs of any significance. With relatively cool temperatures and minimal new loading from either wind or new snowfall, expect the avalanche danger to remain Low.
