The moist fresh snow of the last few days as well as the small wind slabs represent the main danger. The surface of the snowpack will cool hardly at all during the overcast night and will already be soft in the early morning. The moist fresh snow and the scattered mostly small wind slabs can be released in some cases, especially on very steep slopes, and on wind-loaded slopes. In particular, however, there is a danger of moist snow slides. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised as well in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls, especially on very steep slopes.

Over a wide area 15 to 30 cm of snow has fallen since Friday above approximately 1800 m. The new snow is lying on a crust in all aspects above approximately 2200 m. In areas where the snow cover is rather shallow and on very steep sunny slopes the snowpack will soften more quickly. The old snowpack will be well bonded on steep sunny slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. In all regions in all altitude zones only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. On Tuesday in all aspects several small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches were reported.

The avalanche danger will decrease gradually.
