Avalanche Activity

Very isolated small avalanches are possible. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Small avalanches are possible on extremely steep shady slopes. The wind slabs can only be released in isolated cases. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on extreme shady slopes above approximately 1900 m. Avalanches can in very isolated cases be released in the old snowpack, in particular by large additional loads, especially on extremely steep shady slopes above approximately 2000 m. In the other regions the snowpack is well bonded. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be generally stable. Over a wide area only a little snow is lying. On sunny slopes no snow is lying below approximately 1700 m. Wind slabs have bonded quite well with the old snowpack. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the centre of the snowpack, especially on shady slopes above approximately 2000 m.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
