Lo esencial

Overall, the avalanche danger is generally LOW in the majority of the terrain along the Skyline. A MODERATE danger exists along the higher elevation steep slopes where a lingering wind drift may still be sensitive to a person. These may be somewhat tough to spot since they'll be covered up with the new snow from the New Year's storm. Conditions will continue to become more stable through the week and while it's unlikely, human triggered avalanches are still possible along the higher steep ridgelines.

Recent Activity

A snowmobile triggered avalanche was reported that was triggered on Saturday, Dec 29 on east facing Mt Baldy in 12 Mile Canyon. It appears to be the result of wind drifted snow from late last week. MORE DETAILS HERE.
