Lo esencial

The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE on steep slopes above 9500' that face northwest, north and northeast. Old weak snow near the ground may collapse and cause avalanches with the new snow we're receiving. Human triggered avalanches are likely in this terrain.

Outside of the high north facing terrain the avalanche danger is LOW to MODERATE.

Snow and Weather

The series of storms that started on Wednesday has dropped up to 16" of snow so far on the Manti Skyline. We picked up about a foot in the last 24 hours. Mountain temperatures are in the low 20s. The southwest wind has been quite tolerable with gusts only to around 20 along the more exposed ridges and peaks.

We'll see another periods of snow today and more tonight with a break on Saturday and then another system moving through on Sunday. We could see another foot or more of snow by Monday morning.
