Forecast Snow Stability: Late in the forecast period isolated accumulations of windslab will develop on North to East aspects above 900 metres. This will mainly affect areas such as steep corrie headwalls, gully exits, and high wind sheltered locations. Only where this achieves depth is it expected to present a hazard. On other aspects and at lower elevations, the fresh snow will lie on saturated, bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Gale force West-South-West winds are expected. Rain expected throughout the day only falling as sleety snow on the highest tops. Late afternoon brings a significant drop in the temperature and snow is expected to fall to as low as 400 meters. Observed Weather Influences: Gusty, Moderate to Strong Westerly winds. A bright start to the day but it soon deteriorated bringing lowering cloud and continuous rain. The freezing level remained above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Isolated snow patches are all that remain on North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. Elsewhere the snowpack is very much depleted. What remains of the snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
