Dangerous avalanche conditions continue at the mid and upper elevations. Unstable hard slabs two to three feet in depth rest on a variety of aspects. Unpredictable slides may be triggered by one person nearby, the second person on a slope or cutting a slope below the normal starting zone. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations. Cautious route finding and conservative decision making are essential for safe travel in avalanche terrain today.

A weak system is to bring some light snow tonight followed by lingering snow showers on Thursday. Mountain temperatures are to rise to the upper twenties and winds are to average between ten and twenty miles per hour and become Northwesterly during this period. The general avalanche hazard will be Moderate or Considerable depending on how much moisture is received overnight. Unstable areas persist in steep avalanche terrain. Riders and skiers have the potential to trigger hard slab avalanches to the ground in this steep terrain even after a slope has been tracked several times. Caution is advised due to the difficulty in predicting which slopes may fail.
