Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE. Riders and skiers today have the potential to trigger surface slabs to two foot depths in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain. These slabs were affected by strong winds and will present as supportive and strong but are underlain by weak snow and may fail after a slope has been tracked repeatedly. Once triggered these slabs could pull out deeper layers of snow to four foot depths.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Friday looks to be mostly dry with only high mountain peak clouds and occasional light snow. Temperatures are to rise into the upper teens and southwest winds with fifteen to twenty mile per hour averages are expected. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Considerable. Dangerous slabs with depths to four feet lie in wind loaded avalanche starting zones. These slabs are susceptible to human triggers and once initiated are likely to carry severe consequences.
