Lo esencial

Sunshine will soften crusts making wet slides possible on very steep slopes after significant warming. Avalanche terrain should be avoided during the warmest portion of the day.

Wet loose slides will be possible on very steep slopes after crusts soften. Slides could dig down to deeper layers. Wet snow on the surface or breaking through the upper surface are indications of dangerous conditions and avalanche terrain should be avoided.

Avalanche Discussion

The system affecting the Southwest Trails/Greys River area will bring a chance of light snow or rain to that area Monday night then partly cloudy skies will be on tap for the region Tuesday. Morning lows will be in the 20s then the sunshine will warm temperatures into the 40s. Winds will be light and variable. The general avalanche hazard will drop to LOW for the early morning then as the crusts lose strength the possibility of wet-loose slides will increase, raising the hazard to MODERATE.
