The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Dense slabs up to eighteen inch depths lie upon a base of weak, faceted snow. These slabs are most likely to be triggered in very steep, rocky terrain that did not experience avalanche activity during the holiday avalanche cycle.

Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the negative single digits before rising to near 10 during the day. Southwesterly to westerly ridgetop winds will range from 15 to 25 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE on Tuesday. Backcountry travelers venturing into very steep, wind loaded terrain might be able to trigger dense slab avalanches to depths of two feet.
