Lo esencial

At the higher elevations pockets of new wind slab and loose snow sloughs could be human triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Areas of heavy snowfall are possible and will be increasing the hazard. Some potential may persist for larger triggers like snowmachines to trigger deep hard slabs in some upper elevations avalanche paths. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain that experience sustained intense snowfall rates. Mostly stable snow exists below an elevation of 8,000 feet. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.

    At the mid and upper elevations westerly winds will create pockets of new soft slab up to 18 inches in depth. These surface slabs will lie upon crusts and firm old snow surfaces and could be human triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. These slabs will gain depth and volume as the day progresses.

    Weak layers of faceted snow are preserved in the snowpack. At the upper elevations some potential may remain for snowmobilers to trigger hard slab avalanches with depths to three feet in steep, avalanche-prone slopes.
