Lo esencial

At the mid and upper elevations DANGEROUS slabs two to five feet in depth lie upon slick crusts and a weak layer of faceted snow on northerly, northwesterly, northeasterly and some higher easterly aspects. On Monday several on these slabs released naturally or were easily triggered and ran full track in the Tetons. Similar events are likely to be easily triggered today and could release naturally in the late afternoon or evening as new snow and strong winds load starting zones and increase the hazard. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended at the mid and upper elevations in the afternoon or evening. Lower elevation runout zones of upper elevation avalanche paths should also be avoided.
