Lo esencial

At the mid and upper elevations DANGEROUS dense slabs up to four feet in depth lie upon weak layers of light density snow and slick sliding surfaces. These slabs continue to be triggered by skiers. Natural activity has also been reported. On Tuesday afternoon the fourth avalanche fatality of the season occured when an alpine skier triggered an 18 inch deep slab south of the boundary of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and was swept off a cliff. At the lower elevations and in areas with shallow snowpack pockets of slab could be triggered and step to the ground surface.
