Lo esencial
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Soft slabs up to two feet in depth lie upon a weak faceted snowpack. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered by riders and skiers in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain and have the potential to step down to deeper layers. The fourth avalanche fatality of the season in Teton County occured yesterday when an alpine skier triggered an avalanche in a very active dangerous avalanche path located in a permanently closed area of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. A small surface slide completely buried a backcountry skier on Sunday in a steep sided gully on Teton Pass. This person was quickly uncovered without injuries by companions.
