Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is LOW. Slopes lack sufficient snow coverage for avalanche activity below 9,000 feet. Above 9,000 feet backcountry travelers could trigger isolated pockets of surface slab to a foot in depth in very steep, north facing avalanche starting zones underlain by weak old snow surfaces.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Skies on Thanksgiving will be mostly clear. Temperatures in the mountains will be in the single digits in the morning and rise into the teens in the afternoon. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Instability persists on some steep upper elevation northerly aspects. Good snowpack stability evaluation and route finding skills can be used to avoid these unstable areas.
