Skiers continue to trigger slab avalanches on very steep northerly facing aspects at the mid and upper elevations. Five slab avalanches ranging from three to four feet in depth have been reported in the southern Tetons since Tuesday. These include one on the Chicken Scratch path on Mt. Glory, two in the Ski Lake area and two below Drews Slide in the Green River drainage. The consequences of being caught by one of these slides are severe. Isolated pockets of new soft slab up to one foot in depth have also been triggered in steep wind loaded cliff areas at the upper elevations. At the lower elevations isolated pockets of slab up to 2 feet in depth could be human triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones.
