The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE at the Mid and Upper elevations and LOW at the Lower elevations. Two avalanche scenarios remain possible today. Pockets of surface slab 6 to 12 inches in depth could be triggered on steep, wind loaded slopes near ridgecrests with the potential of sweeping skiers or riders into terrain traps or over cliff bands. Deeper instabilities associated with buried weak layers of faceted snow persist, especially in steep, rocky areas with a shallow snowpack. Substantial triggers, such as snowmobiles, large groups, or surface slides are more likely to initiate these deep hard slabs. However, smaller triggers may be enough if a shallow, weak zone is encountered. The consequences of being caught in one of these deep slides could be severe. Avalanches are unlikely in the shallow snowpack at the lower elevations.

A weak disturbance will bring a chance of very light snow to the upper elevations tonight into Monday morning. Winds will be northerly at ten miles per hour and 9500 foot temperatures will rise into the upper teens. High pressure will begin to build again by Monday night.
