Forecast Snow Stability: The snow cover will remain generally thin and stable in most areas. Localised areas of windslab will remain around corrie rims and gully exits where fragile cornices may also exist, These areas should generally be avoidable. In exposed areas wind scouring has occurred and surface icing is a possibility. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry and cold conditions will affect the area. Winds through the day will initially be Easterly moderate becoming fresh North-Easterly later. The freezing level will be around 400 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Cold conditions with light snow showers overnight have affected the area. Winds have been generally South to South-Westerly decreasing by morning. The freezing level is around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: A light cover of recent snow exists above 300 metres. Stability of the generally thin snow cover is good in most areas. Localised pockets of windslab exist in wind sheltered locations. Areas most affected are corrie rims and wind sheltered gully tops. These areas are generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
