Avalanche Activity

CM for 15.02. Unstable windslab will build on N to East aspects above 800m. Cornices above the same aspects. Moderate hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh unstable windslab will develop mainly on North to East aspects above 850m. Areas most affected will be where new snow accumulations achieve depth in steep wind sheltered locations such as gullies, coire rims and ridge flanks. Other aspects may be affected due to cross loading. Fragile cornices will build above the same aspects. Elsewhere the snowpack will be moist, well consolidated and generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
