TO for 16.04. Depleting thawing snow pack, softening in the warmer temperatures and on sun exposed aspects. Avalanche Hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The generally stable and well bonded snow pack will continue to thaw and deplete. There will be some lingering wet snow instabilities present on steeper sun exposed aspects, though these will be minor, obvious and avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Moderate South winds will become very strong overnight, easing in strength tomorrow, becoming fresh South-South-Westerly. It will be a generally dry day with some light rain showers expected later, further inland. The freezing level will be above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry, bright and clear day with the freezing level rising above the summits. Winds were light South-South-Easterly. ObservedSnowStability: Greatest snow amounts are on the higher summits, mainly on ridge crests and coire rims above 750 metres. The remaining snow pack is generally well consolidated and stable with some surface softening on sun exposed aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
