Forecast Snow Stability: New snow amounts are not expected to be deep or extensive. Some shallow localised windslab may start to develop in wind sheltered locations mainly at the tops of sheltered gullies and on steep coire rims with a North to Easterly aspect above 950 metres. The older snowpack will consolidate and remain generally firm and well bonded. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, the freezing level will remain above the summits with rain at all levels along with strong South-South-Easterly winds. During the early morning the freezing level will lower to around 1000 metres, winds will ease becoming South-Westerly and precipitation will fall as sleet and snow mainly above 900 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It was overcast but it stayed dry with cooling South-Easterly winds. The freezing level was above the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snowpack is well bonded and stable in all locations. The snowpack surface was firm after last nights lower temperatures, during the day the snowpack softened. Greatest snow amounts remain above 900 metres in gullies, around some corrie lips and coire headwalls but its patchy elsewhere. The avalanche hazard is Low.
