Forecast Snow Stability: Some instabilities will remain above 1100 metres in patches of windslab found on North to East aspects, with gully tops being particularly affected. On other aspects, and below 1100 metres the snowpack will remain hard and icy. Any fresh deposits through the day are expected to be shallow and avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain cold with a freezing level around 500 metres. Light to moderate Easterly winds will back to the North during the day. After a dry night there will be some light snow during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry and sunny day with light South-Westerly winds. It was also cold with temperatures below freezing at almost all levels. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has consolidated in the cold conditions. Above 1100 metres some instabilities remain in the windslab found on North to East aspects, with the tops of gullies being most affected. On other aspects, and below 1100 metres, the snowpack tends to be hard, icy and generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
