Avalanche Activity

Small, spontaneous wet snow avalanches are possible in snowy places

The avalanche risk is low. The last remnants of snow can spontaneously descend as small wet snow slides. This increases the risk of avalanches in the fall terrain.

Snowpack Structure

There is still a little snow in places at altitude, but most of the terrain is already snowed out. The snow surface is soft from early in the morning.

Weather Forecast

Rain and snow showers will pass through on Monday night. The snowfall level will drop to around 1200 metres, with snow remaining above around 1500 metres. Around 5 cm of new fallen snow may accumulate in the northern Alps and Tauern. On Monday, the weather will be changeable with clouds, sunshine and a few rain and snow showers in the afternoon in the northern Alps and Tauern region. The snowfall level will be around 1400 metres. At 2000 metres the temperature will be around -1 degrees. The north-westerly wind will be brisk at times.

Tendency

Slow reduction in avalanche danger due to melting of the remaining snow.
