Avalanche Activity

Fresh and older wind slabs represent the main danger.

Wind slabs can sometimes be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. Dry slab avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. This applies especially on steep slopes adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

Snowpack Structure

The northwesterly wind will transport the snow. In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed.
