Avalanche Activity

GC20/1 Dry fresh westerly winds cool. Snowpack generally firm and icy with occasional unstable pockets of windslab. Hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: Snowpack stability will generally remain good with a firm and icy surface persisting in most areas. Unstable pockets of windslab may exist in sheltered locations such as gully exits and corrie rims where old snow underlies on Northerly and Easterly aspects mainly above 850 metres. These areas are not expected to be deep or extensive and should generally be avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
