The snowpack is generally stable. Watch for small pockets of wind blown snow on isolated terrain features at the upper elevations. Although small in size, these slides could still cause injuries if they carry an unsuspecting traveler into rocky terrain below.

Clear, calm weather will continue tomorrow with a valley inversion in the morning. Mountain temperatures are expected to drop into the single digits overnight and then warm into the twenties. Ridgetop winds will be light and variable. The snowpack is mostly stable, and the avalanche hazard will be Low. Above 9,000 feet on terrain features with drifted snow, skiers and riders could trigger small, isolated pockets of wind slab avalanches. Due to the early season conditions, many hazards lurk below the snow’s surface, and even a small slide could have large consequences.
